Just compared the other group’s release with Kuu’s - and there’s no competition. Their translation is disgusting.

I am a fan of you guys (your’e quality is superb); Are you all sure that there is no possible way to settle or work together. In all honesty, sora-scans are not the worst scanaltors out there; and aren’t you all short on people? They could back you all up some-times, when yall hit a snag…I know that his may irritate a few people by me saying that though, and I apologize in advance. But, I just think you all can synergize and monopolize on man-power…that will also help you if you wanted to aquire new titles or something. But, Im sure no one asked for my opinion…so nevermind.

You guys are starting to be like those assholes at KEFI, who think that just because their group or skills are better than those of other groups, that series that they do automatically belong to them, or that their superior to other people. Anyone can do Air Gear, you guys are just the main group. The whole point of scanlation is to get manga translated and cleaned. You can all read Sora Scans scan, and they came out with the release faster, so who cares? Sure, I enjoy the joke pages and the quality of Kuu-Scans, but I prefer speed over quality.
Hmm…I don’t remember anyone speed scanning Fairy Tail/Reborn! and then KEFI forcing them to stop, so how are KEFI assholes when they haven’t done anything?
You’re actually wrong too: the point of scanlation is that you like a manga and want share it with the fans (at your own pace ofc), therefore when there’s already a dedicated group like Kuu scanlating a popular series there’s no reason to set up your own group to distribute it (if you want to speed scan a series that’s already being done for your own enjoyment, why not just do it for yourselves without distributing it?). Heck, people might even think you’re just jumping on the bandwagon if you do a series when there’s already a group like Kuu doing it.
Before you ask: One Piece, Naruto and Bleach are different. Because they are the top 3 Shonen mangas (afaik) and because of mangahelpers.com where public translations are available multiple groups scanlate them as soon as the raw and trans are out (although Bludshock does some very good MQ speed scans).
I’d have to say my main problem with Sora-scans is the lack of grammar checking, spellchecking and checking to see if a sentence actually makes sense in English.

Geezz some stuff that was said was harsh, but I have to agree that Kuu has done a very good job, and in all honesty waiting 6 days isn’t all that bad, think about the release of a anime series, you wait in anticipation for the next week so you can watch the new episode. This has been the same way, I don’t mind waiting a week or maybe a little over to get something that is quality. I would rather have a smaller glass of pure water than a jug of crap:P
Thanks for subbing Air Gear, and I’ll be getting your releases. But please think about this - you guys (as SF) started subbing Shin Angyo Onshi randomly when ETC was going a bit slow. I think your ridicule of this group is pretty hypocritical.

I’ve downloaded both sora’s and kuu’s scans and made a comparison and I think in grammatically speaking kuu has a better translation than the sora’s. Sure, speed is important but what is important is the translation, what if their translation is grammatically wrong… then the readers will be confused and all, right? Then if sora really wanted to make the release to speed up then why don’t they just join the kuu-scans to make the release more faster, since I think the kuu-scans are lack of staff?
Well to make the long story short, the reason why the kuu-scans are pissed off or something like that, because each and every scanlation group has his/her PRIDE with each and every manga the scanlate. Kuu is making a great effort on making scanlation and then somebody bumps them with their work. IF another scanlation group started with antoher(group)’s project… its seems that they have lost hope on the first group who scanlated the manga. Even though they, sora-scans, say that they were doing it for fun or whatsoever, the move they did as if they were stepping on the kuu’s PRIDE.
Uhm. well don’t mind me, I’m just talking to myself and all. Its not that I’m against sora-scans… its just that, I’m a reader.
I already scolded Slayer about his anger issues -_- There’s no reason to ridicule the group, they have their own understandable reasons for wanting to release faster. We’re gonna let the do as they wish, and if people would rather take the speed at the expense of quality, then they can… it’s not like we still don’t get 7k+ downloads per chapter XD

yeah you guys don’t have to worry about anything, I doubt that people would prefer faster releases to releases with higher quality and more seriosity about the translations. (is that how u speel seriority…or does that word even exist? XD).
